Description

Our organically grown and ethically sourced Egyptian lotus is a sublime, subtle herbal meditation aid and one of the core herbal allies in healing and theurgic rituals. A soft, hypnotic and calming additive to wines, teas, incense and other type of blends assists in calibrating the focus and yet it is relaxing. There is a reason why the lotus is depicted in the crown of the Pharaohs and the Yogic saints and Vedic/Egyptian Gods, that of the blossoming or flowering of insight into the Way. Lotus flower can be extracted to potent ritual uses and as an admixture to the elixirs of the Lesser and Greater Mysteries.

Egyptian lotus is sacred sourced, holy to the Lord of the House of Life, Hermes/Thoth, and Nefertum. It is an essential aspect of the cosmology of Hermopolis, where the Ogdoad ruled the earth during a Golden Age. They then died and went to live in the Duat, or Underworld. The Ogdoad were responsible for the flow of the Nile and the rising of the sun each day. It was said that everyday they brought forth the lotus that held the sun-god. Another version is that a lotus flower emerged from the waters of a lake called “the Sea of the Two knives”. This lake was located in a park near the temple in Hermopolis. When the lotus’ petals opened, a divine child was revealed – Re. Or that inside the lotus was a scarab beetle, which is a symbol of the rising sun. The scarab then transformed into a crying boy. His tears became mankind. The lotus was sometimes identified as the Eye of Re.

This is an essential magical herb to invoke through the theurgic correspondences of the Greco-Egyptian pantheon, especially those associated with Hermopolis. Inquire about our monograph on the Discourse and Ennead and Ogdoad trilogy.
