Indicators and Symptoms of an Immortal in Exile

Hail to thee, banished Gods and heroes, daemons and exiled Immortals!

An obvious and key indicator of being an imprisoned daemon, god, or immortal is an absolute, complete, and total study of the Mysteries, of alchemical and esoteric subjects. But this alone does not guarantee this status, because the unensouled, through the forces of Strife and Necessity, and as largely controlled, indoctrinated, and possessed of the narrative of the anti- and counter-Traditions, will be ‘interested’ in these topics. This is part of the scripted or programmed hive-mind-like actions that obscure, invert, and validate various systems and cults. These are honeypots of the Occult War tactics, the fog of war combined to be a trap, a confusion, as methods to further obscure, distort, and abstract the Way.

Many scholars, misguided and misnomered ‘hermeticists,’ pseudo-occultists, and New Age ‘seekers,’ (kabbalists/Masons and quasi-masonic or neo-pagans) would largely qualify as possessed of the forces of the Enemies of Life. They are easily identified as they are always linking Hyperborean and Greco-Egyptian Mysteries into the later, plagiarized inversion that is the Hebraic kabbalah (the antithesis of the True Mysteries). Such systems are using the kabbalistic language and narrative of these anti-Traditions, which are much later distortions and appropriations of the True Mysteries. Thus, those who find themselves invested and festooned with the symbols and cults of these parasitic enemies of the Gods have made themselves easily recognizable.

So, the genuine interest that seeks to distill these disempowering and toxic influences on the Western Mysteries is a symptom of understanding the spiritual disease that has been inflicted. This interest or seeking is never complacent, never satisfied, it is of a great and eternal longing, of a clear Memory just slightly beyond recalling, but as if the veil and barrier to this recollection is thinning and dissolving. Many are seduced by the art and symbols of the anti-Tradition, the blurring of genuine ancestral custom with alien faiths, the poisoning of the heart and mind with the laced and comingled lies that lie in wait.

When this research converges with genuine initiatory material there is a true bliss, an exaltation, a visionary glimpse of this gnosis. It is an ecstatic rapture, an illuminated and numinous radiant Memory of ineffable Mysteries before countless incarnations and wandering. One must burn with the intensity of a true tutelary spirit, a demi-god and daemon (distinct from a demon in the Hebraic sense, a daemon is Indo-European word daimon, which means “provider” or “divider of fortunes or destinies” and is the fiery soul of ancestors that are Becoming Immortal that assist those on the Great Work, or one’s own daemon is the true light body that persists or does not dissolve in the dissolution of death and the Abyss).

Other symptoms are of a volatile birth, of being sick or nearly dead, or having a precarious and dangerous entry into this world. Likewise, it is often born to a family of some education and religion in their background. Often, the ancestry is noble, of ancient royal associations that were overturned in the countless revolutions that installed false houses and usurped thrones or replaced the true aristocracy altogether. In former times, as recorded below, the choice of birth for a soul might have been a king, a member of a certain royal family or birth line. This is still true, but with the caveat that these are largely fallen, infected cultic bloodlines in current world age. As the many folk-lore tales of the false king represent, the true royalty and initiates are scattered from the devious pretenders.

The same can be said for most other aspects of life that have been weaponized. For instance, if one were to incarnate into these families that have been infiltrated by these parasitic cults, he or she would likely be ritual abused from birth, in boarding schools, universities and fraternities, until they are shattered into a perfect minion and pawn. As most know, but it is made indisputable, the institutions of medicine have been subjugated, captured, so being a doctor in the traditional sense is merely to serve the Agenda, as displayed so overtly in the pandemic. The decimation of all numinious traditions has left music a secular discordance, celebrating the suicidalism and nihilism of this world, and thus incarnating with such skill, or having success in this field, would have largely in the service of the counter-Traditions. But certain Noble Souls will always rise in the true Arts of the Muses and presence the Immortal Narrative of the Gods.

True seers and knowers of herbs, those who are inclined to such studies, might indeed be exiled immortals, though the profits and trends are designed to blur and distort this sacred Art as well. Here there is a profane herbalism, a false spagyrics based on Hebrew kabbalah and New Age occultism that is a deeper trap as it is more subtle. The naïve cannot help but invest so much into false teachings in the vacuum of true initiation. Most are truly lazy, accepting as dogma these degenerate systems, seduced by symbols and so thirsty they will drink anything that resembles the waters of gnosis. Especially of interest to the exiled immortal is the study of elixir and visionary herbs. As Hesiod records, the punishment of a god can entail denial of the immortal foods of the Gods (In the Theogony exiled deities are denied the food of the immortals until their punishment is over (796-7, 802-4), and similarly Empedocles says that those who gain immortality join the company and “table” of the immortals (B147)). Hesiod says these punishments last nine years, as the banished immortal returns to the other gods in the tenth year. Empedocles’ daimôn is banished for thirty thousand “seasons” (probably ten thousand years, or nine thousand years and the return during the tenth. Note the nine days and the times of banishment, rituals, and even how long it takes an anvil to drop from the highest point in the heavens to earth, then to the lowest prison of the underworld is calculated in terms of nine, as the nine spheres, or seven spheres plus two.)

Another aspect is the shamanic or Physician’s sickness, this type of chronic illness that no modern medicine can even slightly improve or give relief. It is subtle, creeping, demanding a certain lifestyle, demanding one ‘heals thyself’ and thus become a master healer. There are many other remarkable characteristics that may or not be present on the body. This is the concept behind Vedic Arya with the highest caste as the priesthood who access the soma rituals (and Hermes is an Indo-European deity with this shared Hyperborean central doctrine). Certain races that have integrated such practices into their tradition, such as in various esoteric Buddhist cults, seek to birth or reincarnate masters within their region and people in tantrik rites. This is the equivalent of theurgic procreative magic of the Philosophical Child, that seeks to conceive and ensoul with the intention of attracting an immortal.

Many question the Hermetic injunction to have children in Book II of the Corpus Hermeticum, dismissing this with the anti-Traditional degeneracy (literally not generative) that the passage means ‘spiritual children.’ This is absurd (and linguistically inconsistent in the procreative use of therm) and denying the procreative magic at the core of the mythos, the Mysteries, the divine generative and procreative imperative of Nature, of the Gods, of Theos. To bring forth souls is of the highest acts of magic and the Gods, and this passage is corrective of those that sought to disrupt this cycle by refusing to have children if capable. Pythagoras, who was initiated in Egypt is especially procreative of sexuality and suggestive of a spiritual eugenics, in creating adepts and Philosophers through intentional, initiated and aimed incarnation of True Human Beings.

Those who ignore this imperative of the cycle of transmigration, who deny this duty for their selfishness and decadent, degenerate lifestyles are condemned with an accursed incarnation of which we see rampant in this declining world age like a true psycho-spiritual virus. But it is a consequence of denying the necessity of denying souls the precious incarnation to do the Great Work. Indeed, the Enemies of Life seek to eradicate organic human birth, mutilating, surgical, injections, fads, trends, in everyway possible. The ‘pagan’ Hippocratic Oath vows the physician shall never assist in abortion, which again is linked to this Hyperborean and Hermetic understanding of life. This extends into the reasons for the vegetarianism of these visionary and theurgic priests, who must be clean of such pollutions in the entheogenic rites of ascension. Those that deny this reveal their anti- and counter-Traditional indoctrination to the inversions of Nature that is the signature of the Enemies of Life.

The rationalization by those claiming to teach the Way of Hermes on these topics is truly disingenuous and bad faith reasoning at best and more deliberate and insidious New Age dilutions of a doctrine beyond dogma. This is an imperative to those that are able, and if this is discordant or unacceptable then one must desist in calling their path Hermetic. These rare times the Hermetic writings are so explicit in detail such as a bloodless meal, and the assertion of procreationism are corrective to extremes, of imbalances, of distortions and inversions of the mysteries from celibacy and castration, deviant sexuality to always avoid conception, blood sacrifices, and other Occult War tactics to discredit, distort and obliterate the True Way.

Book 2 of Corpus Hermeticum:

Hermes: The other name of Theos is Father, again because He is the that-which-maketh all. The part of father is to make.
Wherefore child-making is a very great and a most pious thing in life for them who think aright, and to leave life on earth without a child a very great misfortune and impiety; and he who hath no child is punished by the daimons after death.
And this the punishment: that that man’s soul who hath no child, shall be condemned unto a body with neither man’s nor woman’s nature, a thing accurst beneath the sun.
Wherefore, Asclepius, let not your sympathies be with the man who hath no child, but rather pity his mishap, knowing what punishment abides for him.

There are characteristics of organic refined qualities: a natural nobility, a quiet dignity and grace, a sense of being apart, a sense of a superiority that does not seek nor need validation. There is a sense of good breeding, exquisite manners, an intangible quality of royalty that is also naturally humble or rather devoid of toxic hubris and vanity. These can become toxic traits like hubris and arrogance, but these are not natural to the exiled immortal, as there is a sense of objectivity of being an observer, a witness to this madness but never truly participating. These are qualities traditional societies would notice in children and mark them as future priests and shamans, as chiefs and elders, as having the merit of some profound and rare aspect, some type of insight that was other worldly and uncommon, valuable and rare. These are the Natural qualities of a true gentleman and lady esteemed universally before the modern inversions of Tradition. But in these inverted and collapsed world ages, these qualities are shunned, and the construct favors a personality type and worldview that maximizes the nihilism, the amnesia, the obliteration of the Path.

When one understands the Mystery Centers of the ancient world were literally screening the masses for these rare individuals, then the Occult Wars make sense. Rather than leaders guiding souls to the Great Work, the split in these cultic wars had some lead them into the ultimate trap for the immortal soul. These same screening and recognizance is done by secret societies through proxies of intelligence agencies, institutions (education, medical, etc.) to attempt to identify and neutralize these immortals in this world. Thus, another signature is inexplicable interventions, both positive and negative (or seemingly so) that force one to constantly recalibrate and adjust. This can manifest as inexplicable misfortune and wyrdful luck, such as that one is conducted through the chaos with near miraculous interventions.

These intervening forces and invisible hands of fate will be demonstrably isolating, purging friends and foes, and seeming allies, family and loved ones into an elite few. This is expressed in the esoteric stage of being fully a stranger to the world. This is not a mere metaphor, but psychic and spiritual barrier that both denies and protects from certain levels of interaction. It is seemingly a paradox that one becomes a True Human Being in estrangement from the common man or masses, but this is the case. It is marked by symptoms of increasing repugnance for the ugly, commonplace and mundane. The plastic and asphalt cultures are abominations to one’s nature, the fads and trends of mass culture revolting, the tiresome spectacle and display of the crowds and hordes demand a hermit’s withdrawal. One is then a wanderer, an immortal vagabond, the stranger in the crowd, the quiet one that roams the mountains, the ruins, the wilderness.

This stage is marked with other cues and signs that are distinctive, as the studies and trials further alienate one from the common experience of others. The path of the adept and the ordinary person diverge so sharply that there ceases to be any truly meaningful interactions as the quest intensifies and time is realized as so fleeting and precious. The urgency and immediacy of the initiate’s work breaks away from those of constant chasing of play and leisure, entertainment, luxury and stimulation. The quest for the immortal memory, the divine Nous and immortal gnosis is of such beauty, such ecstatic exaltation that all else is tarnished with a shallowness and superficiality. It is the prize and trophy for us to compete (CH, IV,3) Those who incarnate three times and Remember are the true followers, the Thrice Great, the true children of Hermes. All true Philosophers were initiates but sworn to secrecy of the actual Mysteries. Therefore, they allude and use metaphor and myth to ensure this understanding is propagated outside of the Rites for preservation, and a type of cross-referencing of common features. For instance, Empedocles said that daimones must be able to recollect previous lives, but a god must retain his current knowledge and memories.

This theme of Memory from Thoth and writing, to hymns of Mercury, of Mnemosyne and Orphic tablets, to Plato and Socrates are the core doctrine of the continuity of self across species, through nearly infinite transmigrations, across the elements and species. (Compare this understanding with such texts as Awakening Osiris, The Egyptian Book of the Dead). See the manuscript De Mysteriis Immortalitatis for more comprehensive discussion on Hermetic/Pythagorean immortality, but sufficient for this discussion linking these Traditions, should be that Pythagoras, asserted to remember his past lives, including being Aethalides, the son of Hermes, who was perfect in Memory of all past lives and events. Pythagoras claimed that Hermes granted him the ability to remember his past lives and what happened to him in life and death.

Such intense experiences can create extremes that dehumanize one and destroy the subtle light generated within by dissipating attained Nous and gnosis. These imbalanced worldviews can become ego traps of hubris and thinking one is superior. Just because one is an immortal within this finite body and realm does not make them especially exceptional or entitled other than what is proven with deeds and merit. There will be those superior in intellect, beauty, skills, wealth, and the construct of the Enemies of Life will aid and assist these as pushing towards a materialistic or hylic narrative as the ideal. When hylics or those of the false Tradition take the sacred herbs, it usually potentiates this malignancy in them, deepening their possession and infiltration by the parasites (such parasites are: as above, so below). Anti-human, toxic and biophobic ‘saints’ will flourish, glorifying the deviant and degeneracy in crafting and defining this reality. A hatred of the world and the body is an ‘gnostic extreme’ and to be avoided, as the body is both a necessity and burden in various aspects of the soul’s transmutation and ascent. A purely libertine and hedonistic philosophy is likewise a detriment, as luxury is brutal and rots the soul beyond any moral or theological arguments. The Noble Soul is Noble, the actions are appropriate, measured, and wise and born of a deep commitment to the Hermetic principles.

This realm is thus crucible, microcosm, Mystery Center and Temple, but also a school, a prison, a lower heaven and higher realm of hell that converge, the mesocosm where infinite spirit and finite matter converge. As such, it can be a stinging reality of nearly infinite torments, disease, suffering, infernal tortures and earthly delights are embellishments to denied relief, of agonies and anguishes of unspeakable pain. There are deeper prisons within the underworld, and the self-made hells of a refusal to follow the Way of the Gods, a type of impiety and breaking of cosmic duty that is worst of all as a transgression against oneself and one’s ancestors.

The pinnacle of the Rites, the theurgy, the ordeals, rituals and lifelong process of alchemy is the beholding of the Great Organic Light. Such a vision is ineffable, indescribable in majesty and beauty, and it is the Memory that the Gods hold and that which makes them divine. It is the Memory held in a lesser degree by the Race of Philosophers, the sons of Hermes, the disciples of Apollo and Artemis, the lovers of Venus, the soldiers of Ares, the worshipers of Zeus, the adepts of Saturn, into the realm of the Eight and Ninth of the Immortals. Hylics will profane the sacraments and Mysteries, and have their delusions amplified. The Immortals exaltation climaxes, in this very body, in a Great Remembrance, a deep Beholding of the Supernal Light. This is a confirmation beyond faith; the visionary affirmation of the immortal heritage of those born of Earth and Starry Heaven, who have tasted of the waters of Memory.

This is a katabasis to the immortal soul to descend to this realm, through choice, through exile, through a divine mission or testing ordeal and quest. Consider the Greek word Anodos (ἄνοδος) meaning either ‘ascent, way up’ (from Ancient Greek ἀνά ‘upwards, up’ and ὁδός ‘the way’) or ‘pathless, having no road, impassable’ (from Ancient Greek ἀν- ‘not’ and ὁδός ‘way, path, road, journey’). It is this Great Yearning for return that is the central symptom of the wandering soul that deeply longs for the company of the Immortal Blessed, of the homeland of the highest spheres of the heavens and the feasts of the Gods.
